The Process of Creating Your Dream Gown

Nothing about you is cookie-cutter. Neither is your wedding gown.

Working with Tracey to create your one-of-a-kind dress, you get to experience the kind of attention and pampering that Hollywood A-listers and other celebrities come to expect before their walk down the red carpet.

We begin with an initial one-hour consultation, which is credited to your account upon booking. We discuss your tastes and preferences, ideas and inspirations. We look at all the details of the day, fabric samples and detail options, and plan a solution that will work best for you.

Once a design is decided upon, Tracey takes exact measurements and makes notes to begin the first draft of your custom pattern. Once you receive your estimate, you will be required to make a 50% deposit. Materials are ordered and the work begins.

The next appointment is a toile fitting where the garment is cut from muslin fabric and custom fit for accuracy before the actual garment is cut. There may be 3 to 7 fittings depending on the complexity of the design; occasionally a second toile is required.

Next are the basted fittings where the garment is cut and fitted in the actual fabric of the gown. The priority at this point is the interior corset and bodice, which is responsible for the unmistakeable look of a custom created couture gown. This gives you the opportunity to have input in many features of the gown, and begin experiencing what your gown will actually look like.

The following fittings are the actual gown created in stages, giving you the opportunity to see your gown come to life. Adjustments are made during each fitting, allowing you input on certain details.

The balance of payment is due after the 4th or 5th fitting, once the gown nears completion.

At the final fitting your try on your gown for the final approval. Any last details are addressed. The entire process takes 4 to 6 months depending on the complexity of the gown, details and your availability for fittings.

What makes the process all the more special is that you get to know your gown. You discover how to move, sit and stand. This results in a very comfortable wedding day.

The gown is delivered complete and to perfection two months prior to the ceremony date.
